A WORD FROM YOUR PASTOR

Dear Parishioners and Guests:

Easter is God’s reminder to the human race that no matter how bad things may seem, He has something better in store for us.  As we enter into this season of Light and Life and Joy, we seek to understand the depths of the Mystery of the Life of Jesus Christ.  He is God with us.  Through His Resurrection, He also gives our human nature the capacity to be we-with-God.  Our destiny is higher than we could ask for or imagine.

In a special way this Easter Season, I invite you to consider the depths of God’s Love for you and to open your heart to a more profound awareness of the heights to which you can soar with His grace.

Let God into your heart in a new way this Easter Season.  Say “Yes” to Him with a level of commitment you never imagined possible by allowing Him to take charge of your life.  Don’t look back.  Look ahead.  See where He is leading you and reach for it with all your might.

Easter tells us that God has power over all the enemies we experience, including death.  Can you sense the beginning, the first stirrings of the Resurrection in your own being?  What if you allowed that to be the most important thing in your life?

To all our guests we offer a heartfelt welcome.  We congratulate all who have become one with us through the Easter Sacraments.  Let us enter the Season of Easter with the Joy of the Risen Lord!

DID YOU KNOW that Easter is the central Mystery of our Faith?  The Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead opened the world to an understanding of all that is true about Jesus.  It was not until the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost that His disciples came to understand the meaning of all that they had experienced.  But it was and is the event of Easter that established the connection that makes all the difference.

Jesus is God.  Easter proves His power over Life and death.  Jesus is our Savior.  Easter shows us the kind of salvation He offers.  Jesus is our Messiah.  Easter unites the whole of humanity in the fulfillment of the longings of our hearts.  Israel’s Faith gave expression to the hope that is given to all of us.  Jesus is the New Adam.  He gives a new beginning to the life of Grace that God offers, a communion of Love that will last forever.

Strategic Nature of the Parish

A Strategic parish is responsive to the needs of its registered membership as well as to the community in which it resides. It has adequate trained professional and support staff to provide religious education, programming for youth, young adults and family ministries, evangelization and Christian service outreach.

“A strategic parish has 1) defined its ministry purpose and reason for being in that location; 2) analyzed the environment in which it operates and realistically assessed its strengths and weaknesses, making assumptions about unpredictable future events; 3) written specific and measurable objectives; 4) developed strategies on how to exercise good stewardship over available resources to reach objectives; 5) developed operational plans to meet objectives; and 6) established methods to evaluate progress.”

Are you personally skilled in developing strategies to accomplish goals?  Can you evaluate progress through review of statistics and trends?  Are you a teacher who knows how to pass on the traditions of our Faith to others?  Is it possible that you would be willing to ensure that Blessed Sacrament Parish grows in its capacity to attend to these matters?
