A WORD FROM YOUR PASTOR
Dear Parishioners:
It seems that as our time together
comes to its conclusion, the Land of Oz is a theme that keeps appearing. Last year I attended a performance of the
Musical Wicked at a theater in
Hear the words of this song as my
words to you.
For Good
(from the Musical Wicked)
I've heard it said that people come into our lives for
a reason,
bringing something we must learn, and we are led
to those who help us most to grow if we let them,
and we help them in return.
Well, I don't know if I believe that's
true
but I know I'm who I am today because I knew you...
Like a comet pulled from orbit as it passes a sun,
like a stream that meets a boulder
halfway through the wood,
who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you I have been
changed for good …
It well may be that we will never meet again in this
lifetime,
so let me say before we part:
so much of me is made of what I learned
from you;
you'll be with me like a handprint on my heart
and now whatever way our stories end,
I know you have re-written mine by being my friend...
Like a ship blown from its mooring by a
wind off the sea,
like a seed dropped by a skybird in a distant wood,
who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you... because I knew you...
because I knew you, I have been changed
for good...
And just to clear the air, I ask forgiveness
for the things I've done you blame me for.
But then, I guess we know there's blame to share
and none of it seems to matter anymore
Like a comet pulled from orbit as it passes a sun,
like a stream that meets a boulder half-way through the wood,
like a ship blown off its mooring by a wind off the
sea,
like a seed dropped by a bird in the wood,
who can say if I've been changed for the
better?
I do believe I have been changed for the better
and because I knew you... because I knew you...
because I knew you... I have been changed for good.

A
Family Prayer
God made us a
family.
We
need one another.
We
love one another.
We forgive one
another.
We
work together.
We play together.
We worship
together.
Together
we use God’s Word.
Together we grow in
Christ.
Together
we love all people.
Together we serve
our God.
Together we hope
for Heaven.
These
are our hopes and ideals.
Help
us to attain them, O God,
Through
Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen.

DID YOU KNOW that the Church teaches
that all the particular calls that come from God are complementary
vocations? There is no such thing as a
priest without a relationship to a people.
There is no religious sister or brother or priest without a whole community
and a common witness for the rest of the Church. No husband or wife can be the person designed
by God without the other who shares the Sacrament.
Similarly, the Church is not complete
without every dimension of her life, laity, religious and clergy. In our time, there is a new depth of sharing
and understanding of the gifts that differ among these expressions of
discipleship. It is important to
cultivate this knowing of one another in practical ways.
How do you reach out to share your life with those who
live “on the other side of the fence”?
All of us are neighbors. We have
a common responsibility to witness to life in Christ. And each call is complementary to every other
call. How do you promote this harmony?
