A WORD FROM YOUR PASTOR
Dear Parishioners:
Blessings to you as you gather this
week with your family for Thanksgiving.
Whether you have a household of many or only a few, it is worth the
effort to sit down together to share a meal and to say thanks to God for all
that He provides.
Each year at our family Mass of
Thanksgiving (which takes place before the meal since my family has a priest),
we take turns saying what we are thankful for.
This little exercise is a highlight of the day. Every member is able to express a word from
the heart. There is laughter, there are
tears. But we receive one another with
a real sense that what is shared is a special experience. There is no family like my family.
I am sure that you and your family
have similar stories to tell. If you
don’t have such a custom, let this be the year that you start it. Tell your family what you are grateful for
and ask each member to tell you. Even
if you are only a few, share these words and allow them to increase your
gratitude.
Happy
Thanksgiving to you and yours! Please
do come to our Parish Mass at 9 a.m.
Bring along some food for a special Thanksgiving Blessing.

Act of Hope
O my God, relying
on Your infinite goodness and promises, I hope to obtain pardon of my sins, the
help of your grace, and life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ,
my Lord and Redeemer.

DID YOU KNOW that we can have a justified pride in being
Catholic. It is a privilege to be a
member of the Church and to be one with Jesus Christ through Word and
Sacrament. In a world the rejects the
premises on which we live, we may often face ridicule for our Faith in the
Church. But the consolation of the
Truth is a real gift. We know the Truth
that God has revealed because we share the Faith that preserves that Truth.
wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
What we have learned together: Hospitality opens others to learn more of the Truth. When we show welcome in word and action, hearts open up right in front of us. Sharing a meal, offering a smile, simply saying “hello” all serve to make guests feel at home with us.
